There are some people who get cannabis, and they wonder if it’s good or not. In some places, you may get it from someone who claims it’s the good stuff, and it’s bad weed. So what do you look for in a plant? There are plenty of different parts of the cannabis plant, such as the buds which contain CBD and THC, and the flowers too. Appearances don’t really tell you everything that you need to know.
Check those Terpenes
The easiest way for you to figure out if the weed is good, is the scent. Cannabis that’s really good, tends to have a bit of a pungent smell. It usually isn’t bad, but it’s strong. This is due to the terpenes. If your cannabis doesn’t have it, it’s not going to be as effective. So what are the terpenes exactly? They’re basically compounds that every single plant that gives off a scent provides. They’re used as a protection mechanism, but those that are using it to help pollinate also give off a scent.
They’re bioactive, so that depending on the type of person that’s out there, there are a lot of health results you get from it.
Check for Sweetness
If you find a sweet scent, you’re on the right track. That’s good weed. These scents tend to be a bit flowery, almost fruity, spicy, and also a hint of earth too. Citrus, blueberry, and the like also determine good weed. If it smells a little bit sweet, that’s sativa, and it offers a good, uplifting and very euphoric scent that offers better energy and creativity.
If it tends to smell like a skunk or a bit musky, it’s an indica one, and it can offer a bit of a sedative high that’s good for the body, and also premium relief from pain.
You usually will tell this right away. Buds that don’t smell, usually aren't good quality. If you do open these up, and it smells like hay that’s dry, or there’s no smell at all, that weed is bad. It usually doesn’t offer a good experience.
What it should look like.
Cannabis also has a different way to look. The main focus, is of course, the green that’s there. Some people usually see it looking a bit green in some way. It might be a bit of a brighter green, or one that’s light, but if it’s green, you’re good to go.
Good cannabis as well may also have small orange colors to it as well, known as pistils. They are small, hairlike strands that also might be white early on when flowering. If they get very deep and almost an orangish color, that means that they’re harvested at a good time.
It also will look almost a little bit shiny. If it’s brown, or it has a yellow color to it that looks dull, you’ve probably got bad weed.
Another sign, is of course it looks white and powdery, and that’s a sign that usually there is some kind of mold there. if it smells almost like hay or mildew, that’s a sign that you do have some weed thats moldy.
It’s best if you don’t actually have this type of weed, because it’ll actually be dangerous for you to consume. If you see this on there, that’s moldy weed, so get rid of it.
These are the common ways to tell if the weed is good or bad. For bad weed, toss this as soon as you can. Good weed is easy for you to consume, and it can be great for your health.
